Living Labs as a space for sustainability education

Living Labs as a space for sustainability education

Livings labs are transdisciplinary spaces in an university that act as an interface between academia, citizens, policy makers, NGOs and businesses. They allow for individuals to come together and use their varied skills and understandings to tackle complex environmental and societal challenges. I propose that we create a living lab that allows any student or staff member to work with others across society to provide solutions to SDG-related issues.

Points

Great idea, we need to learn from each other, and we need to be competent in how to interface with culture outside academia! We also may need to learn hard lessons such as how slow and incremental change by various routes can be - and conversely how to spark rapid and necessary change to overturn unjust and unsustainable systems.
