Set up a Community Repair Cafe. Skilled volunteers guide community members in how to repair their hosuehild items rather than throw them away. Can also take in and repair unwanted goods and sell them on for charity/fundraising for the Community Cafe. Reduces waste, increases skills, makes use of the existing skills of the older generation at risk of being lost, and provides a community social hub.
I think that is an excellent idea. Lots of other places do it so we could get advice from them. We'd just need the premises, once a month say and of course people who are able to repair things!!
